A very convenient but secluded hotel set very well back off one of the main routes into Norwich, Oaklands is a convenient and comfortable place to stay when in Norwich. As well as the facilities in the hotel itself, it is within easy walking distance of the River Yare (maybe a minute from the end of the long driveway) and there are a couple of pubs and restaurants not far away. Had I wanted to, access to central Norwich would also be easy as there is a bus stop on a main bus route, again, virtually at the end of the long drive. Parking on site was easy. It seems like it's a popular venue for events for things like Wedding receptions but even the one on while I was there didn't really affect me. The staff were always cheerful and efficient - nice to see smiling faces about. Overall, a good base from which to explore Norwich or just chill out.

All staff on my visit were very friendly and helpful, there was a kitchen employee nearby when I was talking about breakfast at the reception desk who was very helpful and made recommendations. I booked a single room but ended up with what felt like a king size bed, bath with shower, and plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable and a fan was provided upon request due to the hot weather.

The room was lovely and spacious with what looked and felt like new and soft carpets. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep.

The staff on my arrival - Aaron and a new colleague - were excellent, friendly and efficient. Aaron promptly fed back to my wife who had emailed the hotel advising that I had been delayed on my journey. It was well placed for my needs and the bed was excellent after a 465 miles motorbike ride down from Inverary, Scotland. Morning reception and dining area staff were v helpful, friendly and efficient.

Was attending Gin Festival a 3 mile walk away. Had a previous hotel cancelled booking. Nice location plenty of parking even with a wedding reception taking place on my arrival Room was comfy with a skylight window but I wasn't there for a view so it was of no issue. Staff excellent and the pancake breakfast with lots of coffee and fruit juice set me up for the long journey home Was top end of what I would pay for single room but was value for money

The hotel was lovely and clean. Staff welcoming. Was at the wedding and food was great a lot better than the last wedding i attended in 2016. Breakfast was great too.

The room was clean and spacious. Helpful staff. Food was great, nice portions and great taste. Nice bar too. The ambiance for outdoor dining was truly great. I’ll remember this stay fondly. Minutes of walk away from the beautiful riverside and an amazing restaurants. And a comfortable walk away from Sainsbury’s.

Went for budget room, but was still to a high standard,to what ive had at other hotels. Staff very friendly. Food was amazing. Was abit noisy when in room, but thats because of a pary in one of the function rooms. But ive no complaints to that. Music did cut off at 11.30. Will book again, as i can imagine summer time there is a vibe. Lots of outdoor seating in lovely surroundings.
